It has an odd synthetic buzz when you press the sustain pedal. Some notes have key noise evident, but not on others, so uneven sounding. I got this one with the complete collection. I would steer clear of the Air Mini Grand. I do agree that some of the $100+ libraries do have issues and should be perfect at this level. Just have to wait around for the inevitable sales. Like the Maverick too for an old time sound. The Giant with its thunderous bass is fun to play with as well as the cinematic stuff for adding effects to soundtrack/atmospheric tracks. I know though a lot of people don't care for it. A lot of adjustments to tailor the sound and half pedal, repedal, and string resonances all work. I am still partial to The Grandeur, and prefer the tone turned up a bit. Also, a lot of adjustments and effects possible to play with. I do like the different mic setups available and am partial to the close ribbon mic. Addictive Keys was one my first and is ok as a basic vanilla piano, no half pedal, repedal, or string resonances.
#Addictive keys vs truepianos movie
The Grand Noir sounds like a piano from a movie from the 1940's, and I can imagine it's perfect for a song like As Time Goes By from Casablanca. Now I'm finally practising The Entertainer with real sheet music, not Synthesia, because I have a great ragtime piano sound.

I especially like the Grand Noir, and the Jazzish presets.
#Addictive keys vs truepianos software
It's more of a sound design tool, than a software piano, really. The AK Studio Grand is only about one gigabyte, so you can't really expect it can behave like the big ones, but it has so much else. It may not have the huge dynamic range of the big libraries, like the Garritan CFX, or the Ivory II pianos, the American Concert D, and the new Studio Grands, but I'm having lots of fun with it. It's a real chameleon, you can get almost any kind of a piano sound out of this VSTi, detuned ragtime uprightish sound, a classical Steinway, and most anything in between. I'm starting to get familiar with the interface, and I'm really loving this thing. I got the Studio Grand as a bonus with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4.
